A balloon safari in the Serengeti begins at sunrise and lasts for about 1 to 1.5 hours, offering a magical start to your day as you float above the plains. This means an early departure from your lodge, usually around 4:45 AM. After the flight, a champagne bush breakfast will be waiting for you to make the experience even more unforgettable.
Each trip is guided by a licensed pilot and big team to handle the preparations of the hot-air balloon.

The dry season (June to October) is the ideal time for a hot air balloon safari in the Serengeti. During the rainy months (March, April & May), some balloon rides are still available, but the actual flight is more dependent on weather conditions. During heavy rains and/or winds, the balloon unfortunately can’t take off. In this case, the flight will be cancelled and your payment will be fully refunded or rescheduled to another day if your trip itinerary allows it.
The price of the balloon safari costs around 550 USD. The ride, transfers and champagne bush breakfast after the landing are all included in the price. There are options for vegetarian’s available.
It surely is not cheap, but its definitely worth it. The balloon ride is great for special events like honeymoons, birthdays, other celebrations or just because it’s simply amazing.
