michael hawkins4 days agoIn August 2026, we booked a private family trip through Arusha Trips for our family (2 adults and 2 children aged 12 and 15), consisting of 8 days of safari and 6 days in Zanzibar. Even before the trip, contact with Arusha Trips went wonderfully, allowing us to create the perfect itinerary together. All the parks we wanted to see were included, and regarding the accommodations, we received many options and suggestions, allowing us to choose the ones we wanted to take. All the accommodations were truly top-notch, especially Tukaone Tented Camp and Tarangire Simba Lodge. Here, you really got the feeling of the movie Out of Africa. Close to and among the wild animals! The first day was a nice relaxing day in Forrest Hill, enjoying the pool, a beautiful view of Mount Meru, and also many beautiful birds in the garden. The second day was in Arusha NP, including a walking safari, which was absolutely amazing and brought us very close to many animals. The third day was at Lake Manyara, our first time face-to-face with elephants. We took a 2-hour canoe trip here, which was a wonderful experience with beautiful views of the park, where global warming is also very clearly visible. After that, three days in Serengeti National Park, which really is the most beautiful thing you can see; so much stunning nature, those kopjes, those vast plains, and of course, all the animals. Lions, leopards, giraffes, hyenas, cheetahs, wildebeest, hippos, elephants, vultures, zebras, just to name a few. And then, of course, the overnight stays in the tented camps—such a fun experience and yet so comfortable. Listening to all the sounds of nature. The icing on the cake was, of course, the fact that we got to witness the wildebeest migration not once, but twice in one day. Then, after a nice descent, arriving at Ngorongoro Crater—super idyllic—and so much wildlife. Once again, we were incredibly spoiled by the animals. We saw rhinos up close, had lunch at a hippo pool, and so much more. Then a day at Tarangire NP, again so much more than expected: swimming zebras and wildebeest, elephants that are quite a bit bigger than elsewhere, and then those baobab trees. Then we enjoyed the pool at Tarangire Simba Lodge for a while before going on a night game drive, where we saw many different animals than you can see during the day: bushbabies, serval cats, and chameleons… The next day was saying goodbye to Tanzania Mainland to head to Zanzibar. Here, we had quite a few excursions planned again: Cheetah Rock, swimming with horses in Jambiani, swimming with dolphins in Kizimkazi, a snorkeling trip to Mnemba Island—all arranged perfectly. Throughout the entire trip, Arusha Trips was also always available to answer all our practical questions via WhatsApp, but everything was also arranged so smoothly. Of course, we also definitely want to thank our guide/driver whom Arusha Trips arranged for us: Joseph Chipeta. Not only did he ensure that everything went smoothly and safely, but thanks to him we also saw the Big Five, witnessed the wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River twice, saw lions eating, and so much more. His knowledge of the country, the parks, and the animals was truly top-notch. It was also evident that, thanks to his years of experience, he was very well-liked and respected by other guides, and that he was happy to show us everything. We would therefore like to thank Arusha Trips and Joseph Chipeta for giving us the trip of a lifetime, and if it had been possible, we would have gone on safari again immediately.

Amar Rattan6 days agoFirst of all we had an amazing trip and it met all our expectations and what we had hoped for whilst visiting Tanzania. We travelled the northern circuit ending with time to chill out and winding down in beautiful Zanzibar . We had a couple of stumbling blocks along the way through no fault of Arusha trips such as airline losing our luggage but Terry at Arusha trips did everything in his power to help and organise reuniting us with our baggage. Terry was helpful processional and always available throughout our trip. Our driver Kennedy was fantastic. Helpful knowledgable and enthusiastic and professional. We saw and experienced loads during safari most of which would not have been possible if it wasn’t for Kennedy and his enthusiasm for wildlife and the pride he has in his job. I must also mention Laura who organised our trips and recommended lodges/ hotels for our stay. All of our stops were thoroughly enjoyed and Laura used her experience and knowledge to plan our trip very well. On the whole I would not hesitate from recommending Arusha trips or using them again in the future. Asante Sana !

Peter Zendman25 days agoAmazing trip with ArushaTrips! What an amazing trip through Tanzania this was! From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organized by ArushaTrips. The accommodations during the safari were top-notch. The beautiful tents at Tukaone Tented Camp and Tarangire Simba Lodge, in particular, were a wonderful experience. From these accommodations, you truly experience nature up close. During our eight-day safari, we saw an incredible number of animals. We were able to admire giraffes, elephants, lions, and cheetahs, among others. This was largely thanks to our guide/driver, Joseph. He had incredibly good eyesight and spotted animals that we hadn't noticed at all ourselves. Moreover, he was very friendly, helpful, and knew a lot to tell us about the animals and the surroundings. The people in Tanzania also made a great impression on us. They were friendly and hospitable, and we felt welcome everywhere. After eight intensive and impressive days of safari, we went to Zanzibar to relax and unwind. To be honest, we really needed it. During a safari, you take in so many impressions and see so many special things that you really need some time afterwards to let it all sink in. On Zanzibar, we started with two nights in Stone Town. A beautiful, old, and lively city with much to see and do. We also did a Spice Tour here. Personally, I found that tour a bit less impressive than the safari, but it was certainly fun to learn a little more about the spices and the local culture. After that, we went to Jambiani for five days, to the Fun Beach Hotel. This was truly the perfect end to our holiday. We had asked for a small-scale hotel, and that is exactly what we got. We had our own cottage with a veranda, and from our accommodation, it was about a ten-meter walk to the pool across beautiful, snow-white sand. Upon returning, there was even water ready to rinse your feet so you wouldn't track any sand inside. Wonderful! What we also really appreciated was the communication with ArushaTrips. If anything didn't go quite right during the trip, it was immediately resolved by our guide/driver. And if we had any questions, we could contact ArushaTrips via WhatsApp. They always responded quickly and looked for a good solution. The trip was certainly not cheap, but we felt that the quality and organization were absolutely worth it. However, it is good to take into account the tipping customary in Tanzania beforehand. For a private trip, a guide/driver is often valued at approximately $20 to $40 per day per vehicle. Tipping is also customary for the staff at lodges and tent camps, such as cooks and housekeeping. We appreciated knowing this in advance so that we could take it into account during our trip. In short: for us, this was a fantastic holiday and we look back on it with immense pleasure. The combination of a great safari, beautiful accommodations, friendly people, and a relaxed conclusion on Zanzibar made it complete for us. Martine den Dekker27 days agoWe had an amazing and unforgettable safari in Tanzania, followed by a beautiful Zanzibar experience, both organized by Arusha Trips. Our guide Silvester was outstanding — warm, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife, birds, and parks. On day one he asked what we each wanted to see, and made sure we did. Our three teenagers loved joking around with him, and he was also a great, careful driver. We saw so many amazing things, but Silvester made it truly unforgettable — we'd love to have him again next time! The Arusha Trips team tailored our itinerary perfectly, making everything run smoothly. And Zanzibar was the perfect way to end the trip: a peaceful escape to soak it all in.

Rob van Diepen44 days agoWe had an amazing lifetime experience on safari with Arusha Trips. Laura helped us to make a great 7-days itenerary according to our wishes where we could visit Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorogoro and Tarangire. The accomodations were great, we decided to go for some luxury tents, which might seem as a budget choice, but it gave a truthly memorable experience with animals at night close by the tents. All the time at those locations rangers were present that made us feel very safe at every minute. Trip manager Terry was available via whatsapp for whatever we needed. He was very quick in response for everytime we had a question or when we wanted to change something. Our guide Ally was amazing and did really make our trip. He is very friendly, helpful and has a lot of knowledge about the animals and the Tanzanian nature. There is no doubt that he is truthly passionate about his job. He cares about the nature, adheres to the rules (and explains why we couldnt go certain ways), took care of the jeep and he took really good care for us. Ally managed to show us the full big 5 close-by, although there is no guarentee to be able to see it, it was a big wish for us that was fulfilled. At the same time he was very flexible and if there was an issue he handled it very well. Thanks again Ally and Arusha Trips for this great experience!

Sophie Perolari62 days agoWe had an incredible time with Arusha Trips. From beginning to end, everything was organised perfectly. We did 5 days of safari and stayed in different lodges / tented camps whilst exploring the national parks of Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro. Special shout out to Johnathan our guide who made sure we had an incredible time and always got out of his way to make sure we were comfortable but also to show us all the animals in the wild. We managed to see the big 5 and hundreds of other incredible animals thanks to him - we even saw 4 leopards and a cheetah hunting which was one of the many highlights. I’d definitely recommend using Arusha Trips if you want to have a trip of a lifetime. Thanks again for a memorable time.

Stefan Ruiz63 days agoThis truly was the trip of a LIFETIME! Myself and my partner were so impressed with everything. The booking process was super straight forward, we discussed what we were hoping for and were given different options with different price points which was nice to have the choice. In the end we went with what was recommended and it was honestly perfect. The contact and information given to us pre-trip was brilliant and we felt fully taken care of the entire time. As for the trip itself, it would be an understatement to say that our dreams came true. Our private guide, Johnathan, was incredible. He was very welcoming, friendly, extremely knowledgable and managed to find EVERYTHING! We did not expect to be able to see some of the wildlife that we did but somehow he managed to even find 4x Leopards, a Cheetah hunting and 3x Rhinos (Disclaimer: this is rare, even with a fantastic guide, but Johnathan was so proactive and eager for us to have the time of our lives) The accommodation suggested for us was brilliant, all the staff were lovely and we'd requested a hot air balloon ride which did not disappoint. Arusha trips clearly has amazing contacts and works with lodges, camps and other providers that are super professional, experienced and that deliver excellent services. Also, the destinations we travelled to (Tarangerie, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti) gave us a beautiful range of animals and landscapes to see. Honestly couldn't have been planned better. I will 100% be recommending Arusha Trips to anyone that is thinking about going on a Safari and I will most likely be booking again with them to climb Kilimanjaro sometime in the future.

Contact from the Netherlands to communication in Tanzania was top-notch. I would go again in a heartbeat. And if I come, I will see the waterfalls together with my guide, Dismass. Due to my physical limitations, that wasn't an option for me after many discussions, but now that I know my guide, I am certain that together with him I will get there, and it is on my bucket list once again. Claire Nicolas87 days agoOur trip was absolutely wonderful! I spent nearly two weeks in Tanzania 🇹🇿, including a few relaxing days in Zanzibar before heading off on safari. The organization was excellent from start to finish. Transportation and the itinerary were managed perfectly, with private transfers arranged for all our travels around the island. Everything was handled with punctuality and efficiency. The hotels selected were beautiful and chosen with great taste, and the activities offered were outstanding. We especially enjoyed the Safari Blue excursion. We then spent several days on safari in the Serengeti, Tarangire, and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The accommodations were all superb, offering breathtaking views. In some lodges, it was even possible to observe wildlife directly from the property. Each accommodation had its own unique character and immersed us completely in the magical safari atmosphere. The landscapes, wildlife, and natural environment were simply incredible. As for the safari experience itself, our guide and driver was exceptional: knowledgeable, professional, and always eager to share fascinating information about the animals we encountered and their habitat. In short, this was an unforgettable trip. I highly recommend this agency, which pays close attention to every detail and carefully selects accommodations, activities, and services to create a truly unique and memorable travel experience.

David Andlinger155 days agoArusha Trips was very professional. I did a self-drive safari once in Kenya, but for this adventure we opted to go with a tour organiser. Although we were quite close to the actual travel date, they managed to book a perfect tour. Even when we had to reschedule the tour just 10 days before the start due to an injury, they were super quick to react, even when the country was experiencing nationwide internet shutdowns! I would have never thought that they would be able to reschedule on such short notice and for a low price. We went on a long 8-day safari up to Lake Natron, Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Tarangire, followed by 4 days in Zanzibar. The driver Ali was professional, funny and very knowledgeable. You will learn so much about the animals but also the country and its people. I would always recommend doing a long safari to see many animals, albeit next time I would skip Lake Natron and opt for more days in Serengeti. This way you skip some of the longest and most strenuous car rides (the roads up there are something else 😉). The transit to Zanzibar was flawless. Only a late cancellation by the airline on the last day led to some delay — no fault of Arusha Trips, though. My partner and I can wholeheartedly recommend Arusha Trips for custom-made safaris

Arjan Lagemaat266 days agoA fantastic experience during 9 days in Tanzania! It's been almost three months since our unforgettable trip to Tanzania. You plan to write a review as soon as you get back, but as always, time flies. But here we are. When planning our (father and son) trip, we didn't expect a private tour to fit our budget. But we gave it a try anyway, and together with Marjolein, we managed to put together a wonderful trip. It was fantastic how we were able to incorporate our wishes into it. What special days we had together! When we were picked up from Kilimanjaro airport by an Arusha staff member, we were told, "Now the safari starts." In other words, not just the parks (although they are beautiful), but everything you see and do in Tanzania is part of the safari. And this was also the motto of our wonderful guide, Festo. You told us so much about the culture, customs, and traditions of Tanzania. For example, when you heard that the Maasai weren't part of our itinerary, you arranged a visit for us. It was unthinkable for you to visit Tanzania without the Maasai. We visited several parks during these days: Arusha and Tarangire National Park. On Sunday, we visited a local church. Then we spent two days in Serengeti National Park, and on the way back, we visited Ngorongoro Crater. What was particularly beautiful about the order of these trips (especially the first three) was the structure. It got more beautiful every day, with the highlight being the second day in Serengeti. We saw so much (including the Big Five). Thanks to Festo's experience, which meant he knew his way around so well, we sought out the quieter spots (with few other jeeps). On the last day, we had a cultural trip in Mto Wa Mbu, and then we headed home. All in all, we look back on an unforgettable holiday! But our driver didnt told that we could go earlier then 7a.m. After the second day was the driver sick and he couldnt even talk to us. The mood was getting worser every day. Deborah Tijthoff1132 days agoSafari: What a fantastic trip we had!! We were already so excited. Lex, who was so helpful with everything and quickly gave us a sense of confidence. And then the time had come. The first day was for acclimatization, and we met Mike, our guide. The safari began on the second day. No two days were the same; each time we were excited about what we would encounter, a different area every day, and Mike who did his very best to show us as much as possible. Well, we succeeded! We saw the "Big Five," and so much more. Thanks Mike!!! At the end of the trip, a few days in Zanzibar made it complete. Swimming with the turtles was especially memorable. And we ate such delicious lobster!! It all went by way too fast, but we enjoyed it. Arusha is highly recommended. Thanks!

Sanne1324 days agoAmazing 3 weeks Tanzania with Arusha Trips We have been to Tanzania (main land & Zanzibar) for 3 weeks, with Arusha trips as tour operator. These 3 weeks were amazing! Staying with the Maasai, well built up safari’s in several national parks, hiking along the Rift Valley & to a beautiful waterfall, chilling at Zanzibar.. Lex put together a great holiday according to our wishes. All accomodations were very nice and the balance between activities & relaxing was great.The communication with and support from Lex/Arusha Trips were perfect; before, during and after our trip. The communication was very personal and flexible and we immediately trusted Lex, because everytime he promised something, this was also very well delivered.Our driver & guide (Innocent) was very helpful and a pleasant company during the 10 days we spent together exploring Tanzania. We saw and learned a lot about the country, the culture, the people and the wild life because of this.All over a great experience!

Alexis C1375 days agoAn Unforgettable Honeymoon and Trip We had the most fantastic honeymoon with Arusha Trips! We explored so much of Tanzania, including Zanzibar, and everything was wonderful—our trip planner, Lex, thought of every detail.Without knowing much at all about planning a safari for ourselves, Lex created and tweaked our entire itinerary to put together a trip that met and exceeded everything we wanted to see and do. Even at the last minute, he was able to secure a hot air balloon ride during the safari, which was truly one of the highlights of the trip.We felt safe and very well taken care of during our trip thanks to our Lex, Samuel, and our safari guide, Innocent. We learned a ton on the safari thanks to Innocent, and spotted so many animals, including most of the Big 5! We can't say enough good things about this trip and Arusha Trips, truly the experience of a lifetime!

helma b1415 days agoSerengeti and Mafia Island organized by Arusha Trips 5 stars+++! What a fantastic trip Lex from Arusha Trips put together for us. It couldn't have been better. Fantastic! The locations were superb, from tents to luxury lodges. First, we spent four days in the Serengeti with our guide Leonce. Lex had specially requested our driver Leonce because we were traveling with our two sons who were studying. We clicked immediately, and with it, the friendly atmosphere. Leonce took us to special spots for lunch in the middle of nature. He made sure we saw a yacht and, among other things, six leopards. Thanks, Leonce! Fantastic! Then, on Lex's recommendation, we traveled to Mafia Island for diving. Indescribably beautiful. A bull's-eye. We also swam with 15-meter-long whale sharks. Lex, thank you for this unforgettable family trip; you truly create a tailor-made trip. I recommend your travel agency to all my friends and family. And to all of you who read my review, too.

Ineke B1434 days agoGreat safari ! We had a fantastic week! We saw so much, both animals and tribes. Our highlight was hunting with the Hadzabe… it's unbelievable how these people (still) live. Our driver, Daniel, was an excellent guide. He had a lot to tell us, and we felt safe with him in the Jeep. The open top is fantastic. You really feel like you're immersed in nature. The routing was also very pleasant. The accommodations and food were perfect, and everything was spotlessly clean; we didn't see any vermin! In short: fantastic!

Donna U1466 days agoMother Daughter trip of a lifetime In the summer of 2022, my mother and I have spent 3,5 wonderful weeks in Tanzania and Zanzibar of which two weeks booked with Arusha trips. From the first pick-up at Kilimanjaro airport until the last drop off to head to Zanzibar, we’ve had a blast discovering Tanzania with their guides, drivers, on their activities and in the accommodations. Besides multiple days of safari, we also spent three magical nights with a Masai tribe, leaving us with happy tears while hugging the tribe goodbye. We hiked the surroundings of Kilimanjaro, did a walking safari in a reserve and cooked traditional Tanzanian style. Our Dutch operator (Lex) as well as our guides and extremely skilled drivers (David & Innocent) were a bliss to do this journey with. Would recommend to anyone.

F H1482 days ago10 day safari and relaxing on Zanzibar Great holiday in Tanzania. Everything was organized, culture and the safaris with guide Simbo. We say a lot of animals in Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Perfect way to see everything at you r own pace. Would recommend Lex to everybody who wants to go on safari.

Lex, owner based in the Netherlands did a great job guiding us during planning. He recommended options and how to combine our points of interest. Everything happened exactly as planned. Hiking with David (our guide for Mt Meru) and his team did an amazing job. Especially on the summit day. Francis (driving guide on safari) was funny. Safe driver and a superb spotter of wildlife. Overall we enjoyed our trip a lot and can highly recommend Arusha trips if you value a reliable partner during our stay in Tanzania.

Then, after a nice descent, arriving at Ngorongoro Crater—super idyllic—and so much wildlife. Once again, we were incredibly spoiled by the animals. We saw rhinos up close, had lunch at a hippo pool, and so much more. Then a day at Tarangire NP, again so much more than expected: swimming zebras and wildebeest, elephants that are quite a bit bigger than elsewhere, and then those baobab trees. Then we enjoyed the pool at Tarangire Simba Lodge for a while before going on a night game drive, where we saw many different animals than you can see during the day: bushbabies, serval cats, and chameleons… The next day was saying goodbye to Tanzania Mainland to head to Zanzibar. Here, we had quite a few excursions planned again: Cheetah Rock, swimming with horses in Jambiani, swimming with dolphins in Kizimkazi, a snorkeling trip to Mnemba Island—all arranged perfectly. Throughout the entire trip, Arusha Trips was also always available to answer all our practical questions via WhatsApp, but everything was also arranged so smoothly. Of course, we also definitely want to thank our guide/driver whom Arusha Trips arranged for us: Joseph Chipeta. Not only did he ensure that everything went smoothly and safely, but thanks to him we also saw the Big Five, witnessed the wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River twice, saw lions eating, and so much more. His knowledge of the country, the parks, and the animals was truly top-notch. It was also evident that, thanks to his years of experience, he was very well-liked and respected by other guides, and that he was happy to show us everything. Laurie H6 days agoYou should book with Arusha Trips - with some tips, you will have an amazing trip! We have just returned from a fantastic 8 day trip where we have been to Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorogoro, Olduvai Gorge and we decided to skip Tangire - we were so tired and satisfied with the amazing views, animals and more that we had seen. :-) The tour company has this safari down to a science but, be sure to confirm all details before you commit. I am "mature" and we went when it was super hot (over 90 degrees). I had asked for Air Conditioning and didn't get it. It was a problem and the team at Arusha tired their best to assist on the fly but, I was overheating and having swelling issues due to the lack of accommodations to cool off. We also told them that our flight arrived at 5 am at the beginning but, then found out we had to pay extra to have a room for us at arrival after 23 hours of travel. These things are details that are key to be aware of when you book. However, I do have to recommend this Safari to you without reservation. Going with a local provider direct saves you money and throughout the safari, we saw the Nat Geo, Kennsignton and the Four Seasons Land Cruisers at the same picnic spots, etc that we frequented. I'm sure the difference in cost was on accommodations but, this Safari is the way to go. Dao was great and picked us up at the airport for our transfer. He was very kind and tried his best on the roads. He was a joy while we looked like the walking dead after travelling for a full day and landing at 5 am. There are different drivers for the airport, Arusha Day tour and then the Safari Tour. Each have their own specialties. You will get to know and work with many people on your trip. Now the absolute best part: Our guide Nelson. You should ask for him when you take this Safari. He is fantastic! He knew how to tell us all about the animals and trees and plants, knows the roads and how to drive well. He also managed to help us see the Big 5, a momma Cheetah and her four cubs as well as 7 lions feasting on a recent Zebra kill. He is an excellent spotter and works well with the other drivers in the parks. Nelson made our trip. He also has a new Land Cruiser. Always request a new Land Cruiser for your safari. They are amazing machines and Nelson took great care of the car and us. Because it is a private tour, Nelson was open to our suggestions. If we wanted to look somewhere a little longer, or leave half an hour later, he was great. I would recommend early drives in Serengeti as the animals are out and cool. The sunrise is beautiful and the whole vibe is so calm and tranquil. The accommodations have different types of tent camps. You should know that the roads are almost exclusively dirt with deep grooves - everywhere. This includes to the accommodations. You can be in the Land Cruiser for up to 3 hours of driving before getting to a park or after a drive to the accommodations. It is a joy to get out of the car! Most accommodations do not have hair dryers due to solar power and there are different types of camps. Migration camps do not have any climate control nor fans. You can't even charge your phone in your tent. You want to have permanent camps and tents in my opinion. The power is more stable. Same with the flooring and bug abatement as they seal better too. Either way - you will have nature all around you at all the camps and the sameish food. Elephants, Hyenas, water buffalo, zebras and more were all around us. All lodges were well secured. Walkie Talkies were used in the dark to call security. During the darkness, it is recommended to always have an escort walk with you in case there are animals. A highlight is Sound of Nature in the Serengeti. You should try and use their services if possible. We also made sure to go to Olduvai Gorge where some of our earliest examples of humanity have been discovered. It is a Nerdy pit stop but, so worth it. It is the cradle of so much of our evolution. The museum is great and the bathrooms alone make the stop worth it. Trust me on this, Ladies! Lastly, do not forget to tip your driver and tip them well if they do a good job. It is a very physically demanding job and your driver takes your safety seriously. My husband had to pee on the Serengeti and Nelson made sure he was safe. That alone is priceless as were the reactions of the Wildebeests wondering what animal was marking their territory :-). As an aside, Leopard is the company Costco contracts with. I compared them with Arusha Trips and ultimately went with Arusha Trips. We (2 couples from the UK) liaised with Lex at Arusha Trips and created a 2 week itinerary that was a mix of culture and nature. Lex was so helpful in advising us on our plans and making sure we had a balance of big days out and downtime. The highlights of our trip were of course the wildlife (we saw all the big 5 and much more) and the Tanzanian people, who made us feel so welcome. Most wonderful of all was our guide Valence. Pre-holiday they kept us up to date on what was happening in Tanzania and send us a lot of helpful information to prepare ourselves for our vacation. Once arrived at the airport, our guide was waiting for us in his uniform with a sign with our name on it and took us to our lodge where we got a warm welcome. Here the manager, Clinton, was waiting to brief us about our trip. The safari was the absolute highlight of our trip and the other activities like visiting the hotsprings where simply unforgettable! Our guide, Kepha is simply amazing, truly a golden guy. He was very professional and seemed to know exactly where certain animals would be, before anyone else.
