Go on a full-day safari to Selous (Nyerere National Park) from Zanzibar. Depart in the early morning by plane and return to your accommodation in the evening. Spot elephants, giraffes, lions, and more before enjoying a picnic lunch in the heart of the wilderness.
Your safari adventure begins with a transfer from your hotel to Zanzibar Airport. At 6:00 a.m., you board a short domestic flight to Selous, also known as Nyerere National Park, one of Africa’s largest protected wildlife areas.
On arrival in Selous, you’ll meet your guide and climb into an open safari jeep. These vehicles are designed for comfort and panoramic views, allowing you to feel the wind as you drive and enjoy an unobstructed view of the wilderness around you.
The park is home to savannas, woodlands, and riverbanks where hippos and crocodiles can be seen. Your guide will share their knowledge of the park, pointing out animal tracks in the dust, explaining plants and their uses, and helping you spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and countless bird species.
Mid-morning, you’ll pause for tea or coffee before continuing deeper into the park, and around lunchtime, you’ll enjoy an authentic bush picnic, with hot dishes served in the park.
The afternoon is spent back on the game drive, with more opportunities for wildlife sightings and photography. In the late afternoon, you fly back to Zanzibar, where a transfer will return you to your accommodation.
