Step into the daily life of the Meru people with a guided village walk! Get the chance to explore farms, markets, schools, and local bars while learning about traditional farming practices and community life. This cultural experience offers a deeper connection to Tanzania beyond its wildlife safaris.
Your walk begins at Usa River, home to the Meru tribe, where you’ll meet your guide and set out through the village. Along the way, your guide will share stories about Meru traditions, farming practices, and community life.
The route may include stops at small farms to learn about local crops, a bustling market to see daily trade, or even a visit to a school. Guests also have the option to step into a local bar for a refreshing drink, offering an authentic glimpse into social life in the village.
Walks are flexible and tailored to your interests, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, take photos and interact with the community. This experience shows both the past and present of Meru culture.
Note: Please note that transport is not included in the activity price.
For your convenience, we can arrange a private taxi transfer directly to the activity location for €60 (retour from Arusha).
Alternatively, you are welcome to travel by public transport on your own.
Please also note that school visits depend on timing and school schedule.
By combining the Village Tour with the Lake Duluti Walking & Canoe Tour, you can make a fantastic excursion to experience the Lake Duluti area.
