The once in a wild-lifetime experience. Conservation Rescue Awareness. Cheetah’s Rock is an animal sanctuary and all the animals have been rescued from poor conditions or donated by wildlife centers for protection purposes! Behind every animal is an interesting story, which you get to hear during the tour! Cheetah’s Rock is a unique, very special place where people and animals interact directly – face to face, eye to eye, fur to skin.
Cheetah’s Rock is located on the west coast of Zanzibar, north of Stone Town and south of Nungwi. You can choose between the “Big Wildlife Tour” and the “VIP Otter Experience.” You could also combine the two.
On the Big Wildlife Tour, you will see a cheetah and have the opportunity to photograph it. Visitors can also feed apples and carrots to the zebras and act as an obstacle course for the rescued monkeys! There will be hyenas, lemurs, and Suni antelopes to see! You can also take pictures with the white lion and possibly feed him.
At the VIP Otter Experience, you can swim with otters. Even better, you can interact with these cute animals! Get up close and personal with the animals for a magnificent and thrilling encounter!
Our tours require a minimum age of 15 years old. Please refrain from wearing anti-insect repellant, sun tan lotion, aftershaves, or fragrances, since these might be toxic to our animals. To ensure the health of our animals, all visitors will have their hands and shoes cleansed before entering each enclosure.
What to wear on the Great Wildlife Tour:
Shoes that are comfortable – trainers or boots are good. Avoid wearing anything that could cause you to trip.
Shorts or jeans work well. Avoid dangling apparel such as dresses, baggy pants, and scarves. Jewellery, pins, and loose textiles are not permitted since they could suffocate animals. Don’t forget to bring your camera if you want to shoot some fantastic photos.
What to bring for the VIP Otter Experience: Simple swimwear and towels and waterproof cameras are preferred.
