The boat leaves at 16:30 from the shores of Nungwi to cruise along the coast, gliding through the translucent blue azure waters.
Once aboard the crew will navigate the Dhow boat about a Kilometer off shore using the engine. Once a nice and quiet spot to enjoy the sunset has been reached, the engine will be turned off and the classic sails will be lifted. From here the winds will be the Dhow boat’s engine, while you relax at the boat and enjoy the tranquility of the Indian Ocean.
Once the golden hour starts and the golden rays reflect on the ocean, the only sounds surrounding you will be the waves splashing at the bow of the dhow boat and the sounds of the sails flickering in the wind. Getting to the Boat and back
The Dhow Sunset sail cruise starts at Nungwi and leaves the ocean’s shoreline around 4:30pm. For the ones who aren’t staying in/near this location a transfer can be arranged. The transfer will pick you up at your stay at around 4:00PM (depending on your location). After the sunset sail you can have a nice dinner at the beach or enjoy some of Nungwi’s many fresh-fish restaurants.
