Can you imagine it? A gigantic elephant just a few meters away? The special thing about a safari in Tanzania is that you actually enter the territory of the wild animals! This means that you literally come face to face with the wild animals! But it’s not only during the day that you’re in the middle of nature, most of our accommodations are also located in National Parks.
This will give you a full experience of the wild nature of Tanzania and what really happens at night 😉 Maybe a giraffe will walk past your lodge? Or maybe you’ll hear the sound of an elephant at night? A Tanzania safari lets you experience that real piece of pure nature and adventure like no other safari!
Take a look at our small-scale unique lodges and tented camps that we have selected for our safaris. We have accommodations in different styles and price ranges, so you can always find the one that suits you best.
Perhaps you have heard about ‘the 7 natural wonders of Africa’. These 7 places are considered to be the most special and unique places in the whole of Africa. It is not for nothing that Tanzania is frequently visited by travelers who have put the 7 natural wonders on their bucket list. Tanzania already contains 3 of the 7 places: Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro Crater and the Great Migration in Serengeti National Park.
Not only can you see and discover an incredible number of different places, the unique thing about a trip to Tanzania is that these places are also super easy to reach. Within a day’s drive, you can discover a huge variety of national parks. This means that for the number of days you spend on safari in Tanzania, you can see an enormous amount compared to safaris to other destinations in the world!
Not to mention… Tanzania is home to more than 100 different tribes! Think of the hunters and gatherers as we know them from our history books. You can still find these people in Tanzania! This is the Hadzabe tribe, a tribe that still lives according to the Stone Age (a fun fact is that finds of the very first humans have been found in Tanzania). All in all, there is a lot to discover about the rich and diverse culture of Tanzania. Each tribe has its own unique culture, age-old traditions and beliefs.
During our safaris, you will be amazed! There are countless wild animals that you can spot! You will first of all see large numbers of antelopes, but also zebras, wildebeests and gazelles. Cheetahs, hippos, monkeys and giraffes will also pass by. Don’t forget to look up! Not only are there many special animals on land, there are also more than 1000 different species of birds in the sky.
But it doesn’t stop there… Is the famous Big Five on your bucket list? Then Tanzania is the place to be. Spot the 5 most dangerous animals to hunt during your safari. Elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, leopards and lions. With a bit of luck you will spot them all! The rhino is almost nowhere to be found due to the drastic extinction of this impressive species. Fortunately, the black rhinoceros can still be found in the wild in Tanzania.
How close the wild animals come to you during the safari varies a lot. One moment you drive through an area where you can see lions in the distance, but the next moment they suddenly walk right past your car! The great thing about a safari in the wild is that you can never predict exactly what you will encounter or what will happen. That makes it very exciting! It could be that a cheetah suddenly appears in front of the car, preventing you from driving on. Or a monkey might jump on the car! The important thing to remember is that you are always safe. As long as you sit quietly and don’t do anything unexpected that scares the animals, nothing will happen. If you respect the wildlife, then it will respect you as well.
How long you want to go on safari is and remains a personal choice! That is why you can always let us compose your personal safari.
To really explore Tanzania we recommend a minimum of 7 days for your safari. It is also wise to allow for 1 or 2 extra days to relax and recover from the trip. Besides the safari, you can also choose to spend a few extra days relaxing. You can do this for example on the beautiful tropical island of Zanzibar. Not only does this island offer excellent sunbathing, it also offers a lot to do! Swim with dolphins, go fishing or explore the underwater world on a diving excursion.
To get the most out of your Tanzania adventure, we recommend a safari lasting between 7 and 15 days. The Tanzania safaris that we have put together vary from 5 to 15 days. The 15-day safaris, for example, also include a trip to Zanzibar and other relaxing activities.
Considering how much there is to experience in Tanzania, you will never be finished discovering it. If you have the money and time, we recommend staying longer. You can easily spend several months in Tanzania and still see new things every day!
During a safari in Tanzania you will be in the middle of wild nature. Therefore, you will be seen as an intruder of the wildlife’s territory. But as long as you follow the instructions of our specialized and local guides, you will always be perfectly safe! Our guides are all qualified and know the safari areas from childhood. They have studied specifically for this purpose and have the necessary wildlife knowledge to show you the unique places of Tanzania safely. In addition, in certain national parks, when you leave your car and go on a walking safari, an armed ranger will accompany you. All for the safety of you and the animals!
