Today is our first full day in Tanzania. It feels like waking up in a different world as the sun rises amidst of the most colorful and famous tribes of Tanzania.
Today we will experience the daily life of a maasai and learn about what it means to be a ‘maasai’.
The day starts in traditional maasai clothing, beginning with daily activities like milking the cows in one of the maasai settlements or have a walking safari where you’ll learn the ways of the Maasai and maybe come close to wild animals!
After lunch, men & woman will be seperated. As the maasai ways are different from ours. Men will collect healing plants and women look for fire wood, repair maasai houses.
On festive days, a goat may be slaughtered and prepared on the fire place for a special goat-fire celebration and traditional maasai dancing. A great relationship experience you will never forget.
You will end the day with a stay in a original maasai-style accommodation.
Today we will take a step back in time. We will have safari like the first pioneers that set foot upon these lands. We’ll be walking between wild animals on foot.
The safari is in a secret, off the beaten track national park: Enduimet WMA. A hidden jewel in the most northern part of Tanzania, West-Kilimanjaro. Few visitors come to this place and wildlife thrives here beneath the impressive sight of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.
If you want to explore Tanzania and would like to have a more adventurous experience, visit places fewer other people have visited, then this is the place.
This day wel will visit Lake Manyara national park, one of the smaller national parks of Tanzania. It’s named after its huge lake take covers most of the area. Nonetheless, Lake Manyara is one of the parks with the biggest variety of landscapes.
You can find yourself in thick woodlands where elephants feast and hunters are hidden, muddy pools filled with hippo’s, mysterious jungle area’s where monkeys rule, desert-like areas where giraffes pass through and the edge of the lake, where thousands of flamingo’s have their summer homes.
Of course not to forget about the impressive 400 meters deep Rift Valley Escapment. A tear in the earth that stretches out for thousands of Kilometers across East-Africa. At the end of the Safari we’ll drive to the lodge where you can enjoy a stunning sunset from the pool, while enjoying a cocktail. Truly an amazing place.
We’ll get up in the early morning to have breakfast and start our safari. After a short drive from our lodge, we will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which we will have to pass trough to reach Serengeti National Park.
Serengeti National Park is one of the largest parks and has a variety of landscapes, but is most famous for its great plains. Here the hunters, such as lion, cheetas (and many many other animals) thrive.
We’ll spend our day searching for wildlife and watch the sun-set from the great plains of the Serengeti in the evening. As night falls, you’ll be surrounded by the sounds of the wild and protected by the flames of the campfire that keeps you warm. Enjoying a sunset at the campfire is a must-have-done experience in the Serengeti.
A full day in Serengeti usually starts with a sunrise safari. During this time the animals are the most active and you’ll have the biggest chance of seeing some real National GeoGraphic / Animal Planet action! Here you will likely come eye to eye with the carnivors that rule these plains. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyena’s and many more.
The rest of the day we can explore Serengeti and at the right time of year find ourselves amidst of the great migration. The undisputed highlight of everyone’s safari experience!
You can fly over Serengeti’s impressive plains and spot wildlife from a different perspective by doing a optional balloon safari with champagne breakfast. This early morning experience will make your trip even more memorable.
After breakfast, we will drive towards a steep and narrow road that takes you into the Ngorongoro crater. A bumpy, but adventureous road with some beautiful views! The slopes are forested, but soon the landscape changes to savannah.
Down in the crater, you’ll be able to spot many animals from a distance. Here is your best chance to spot all the members of the Big 5, including the endangered black rhino!
After the first gamedrive we’ll have a relaxing picknick-lunch at a hippo-filled lake. After lunch, we’ll slowly drive back to the edge of the crater and stop whenever we pass an interesting sight!
Once we’ve reached the edge, somewhere in the early afternoon, we’ll drive on to the next lodge. Here you can enjoy dinner together, swim at the pool, watch the sun-set from your room’s balcony and fall asleep at your own private indoor fireplace. It doesn’t get any better than this.
Today we will visit Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire river that crosses the national park.
Tarangire is famous for its big herds of elephants and huge, ancient baobab trees. The elephants that live here are bigger and stronger than in any other national park due to the many foodsources. You’ll be sure to see quite a few, along with many other animals that live here.
Other animals that can be found in Tarangire are lion, leopard, cheetah (rarely), caracal, giraffe, waterbuck, dik dik, impala, eland, Grant’s gazelle, baboons, monkeys & more!
Today we will do a very special activity. A hike to an unknown waterfall. A place that the founders of Arusha Trips accidentily discovered on one of their many hikes. A small, private waterfall hidden upstream rivers and in between jungle. Here our guide will prepare a private pick-nick lunch for you while enjoying the surrounding sceneries. After the pick-nick you can spend some time together at the waterfall, have a swim and take some photos.
Today we will pack our bags and take a short flight of about one hour to Zanzibar. One of the most beautiful islands in the world. The whitest beaches surrounded by flourishing oceanlife in Azure blue waters. A great place to use that ‘i’m on holiday’ excuse when deciding on your morning cocktail.
Zanzibar is a place that suits everyone’s needs. There’s a place to party, filled with fellow travelers, local bars, beach & boat parties and a place to enjoy some peace and quiet, surrounded by empty beaches & palmtrees, with only the sounds of the ocean.
The azure blue waters around the island are not only perfectly suitable for any kind of activity like scuba-diving, snorkeling, fishing, kiteboarding, (sunset)boattrips, sandbank and island hopping, but also provide the island with some of the freshest seafood you can find. Even expensive seafood like lobster is just a daily snack on a budget on zanzibar.
The safari is, unfortunately over, but this day you’ll wake up full with everlasting memories and great stories to tell your friends & family back home. This is the your last day, you can choose to relax at the lodge and enjoy a not so guilty morning-cocktail or use this last day to experience a bit more of Tanzania by doing an extra activity. At the end of the day, you’ll take your flight home.
All of the lodges are hand-picked and personally tested by us, to make sure each and every single one of them meets our high-standard requirements of quality and service. The lodges are selected based on a few criteria that guarantee the best possible safari-experience. Some of these criteria are; small scale of the lodge, the views it offers, the uniqueness & efficiency of the location and of most of all: the wildlife-experience!
